'Hunchback Of Notre Dame' In Production


Josh Brolin is currently developing a live-action adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame, which will actually be based off of the novel, Notre Dame de Paris, and not the Disney movie.

Josh Brolin is developing a "Hunchback of Notre Dame" project at Warner Bros., with the thesp starring and producing through his Brolin Productions shingle.

The scripting team of Kieran and Michele Mulroney are on board to pen "Hunchback," based on an idea developed by Brolin. Project's being developed as a possible directing vehicle for Tim Burton, who's not yet formally atttached.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, other than being based on the Victor Hugo's novel "Notre Dame de Paris" about Quasimodo, the deformed bell-ringer of Notre Dame, and the beautiful gypsy Esmeralda.

The Mulroneys penned Warner's sequel "Sherlock Holmes: Game of Shadows," due out in December.

Brolin's currently seen in "True Grit" and has been shooting "Men in Black 3."

Jesse Ehrman is overseeing the project for Warners.
