Review: 'Restrepo'

This movie is the REAL thing.  A documentary that will test your emotions and your strength.

Restrepo is about a group of soldiers out in the Korengal Valley in Afghanistan for their 15 month deployment, which was considered to be one of the most dangerous posts in the military.  These men are shot at AT LEAST 4-5 times a day.  Could you imagine??

The outpost these men created at Korengal Valley IN ONE NIGHT was named after PFC Restrepo, who was killed early in the campaign.

Interviews with the soldiers who were there plus the footage there at the valley by Tim Hetherington and Sebastian Junger are included in the movie and interwoven very well.

This documentary was nominated at the 83rd Academy Awards for Best Documentary Feature and definitely deserved it.

I don't have to stress just how good this movie was.  It's REALLY good!  If you are in the military, watch this film! If you know anyone in the military, watch this film! If you have nothing to do with the military, WATCH THIS FILM!!!

There are very few movies that have made me TRULY appreciate the art of film and Restrepo is definitely one of those movies...
