'All You Need To Kill' Adaptation Adds Emily Blunt To Pair With Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise, coming off his turn as Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, will star in this film along side Emily Blunt in a live-action adaptation of All You Need To Kill.  Originally Brad Pitt was set to star but had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts.

This project is an adaptation of the Hiroshi Sakurazaka novel, with illustrations by Yoshitoshi ABe (love ABe's work!), follows a new recruit in the United Defense Force in an alien war who finds himself living his last day in battle over and over again after being caught in a time loop.  Blunt is set to play a soldier along with Cruise which will be a change of pace for the actress.  This definitely looks to be a cool adaptation.  As long as it's better than Dragonball: Evolution.  Even a little bit better would be nice.

The film is set to be directed by Doug Liman of The Bourne Identity so having his name on this, makes me a bit weary on how the action will look.  I hope it's not all shaky and crazy and -- ahh, I'm getting a headache just thinking about it.

No word on an official release date but it is next on Cruise's and Liman's to-do list.
