Adam McKay, the co-writer and director of the upcoming Anchorman 2, did an interview with Salon and hinted at some plot points for the Anchorman sequel. Whether it will be the actual main plot line is left to be seen.
Though the script is still being written, McKay did give a few words as to what the plot of the sequel may be about.
McKay, in the interview with Salon, "I don’t want to give away too much, but I’ll just give a couple pieces of ideas that we’ve kicked around. Keep in mind we’re still writing the story, but I’ll say one phrase for you: custody battle. I’ll give you that. I’ll give you one other one: bowling for dollars."
Custody battle could mean anything. Ron and Veronica have a child together? Or maybe Veronica has a child with someone else? Or possibly it's just a codeword for something -- you know so that we would go all cuckoo for this tidbit of information.
Bowling for dollars could also mean anything. I don't know, I'm not diving in this too much but I'm sure media outlets will be coming with all sorts of predictions as to what the story will be.
In any case, knowing that Anchorman 2 is, for real, happening-- that's good enough for now.
