Julianne Moore To Play Mother To Chloe Moretz's 'Carrie'

Now that Chloe Moretz has won the role of the title character in the new Carrie remake, Julianne Moore is the new casting news and is in talks to play Carrie's mother in the new remake.  Piper Laurie played Margaret White in the 1976 classic and was praised for her performance so Julianne Moore has some big shoes to fill.

Moore has played in a couple of other horror films such as replacing Jodie Foster as Clarice Starling in Hannibal and playing Lila Crane in the Psycho remake and is currently working on the exorcism film The Seventh Son.

Robert Aguirre-Sacasa is writing a version that is more faithful to the King book than the earlier movie. The writer is a producer on Fox's Glee so he is no stranger to bullying.

Carrie is scheduled to be released March 15, 2013.
