'The Mummy' Already Getting The Reboot Treatment

After only four years since The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor and thirteen years after The Mummy, there is news that Universal is ready to reboot the series.  Prometheus penman Jon Spaihts is to be writing the script for the reboot.

Spaights commented, "I see it as the sort of opportunity I had with Prometheus: to go back to a franchise's roots in dark, scary source material, and simultaneously open it up to an epic scale we haven't seen before."

I guess since Spider-Man is getting a reboot via The Amazing Spider-Man, then why not The Mummy, right?  This seems to be a bit early for a reboot, but you never know, it could be entertaining.

So, what do you think of a Mummy reboot?
