Michael Ardnt To Rewrite 'Catching Fire'

Gary Ross not only was the director of The Hunger Games, he was a co-writer of the film.  Originally, he was going to write a draft of Catching Fire but now that he is no longer a part of the franchise, Lionsgate has hired Michael Arndt to rewrite the script that has been written by Simon Beaufoy of 127 Hours.

Michael Arndt is best known for writing the script for the Oscar winning animated film Toy Story 3 and also won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for 2006's Little Miss Sunshine.  Michael Arndt has also been hired to rewrite the script for the Phineas and Ferb film which is based on the Disney Channel show of the same name.

I agree with the choice of Arndt.  I loved Little Miss Sunshine and Toy Story 3 so I am pretty excited to see what Arndt will do.

What do you think?
