MGM To Tackle 'The Town That Dreaded Sundown' Remake, Ryan Murphy To Produce

MGM is at it again.  With their Carrie reboot just over the horizon, it has been revealed that the studio will also be taking on a remake of the infamous 1976 film The Town That Dreaded Sundown.

This comes as no surprise as talks of a sequel to the film, and later a remake, have circulating the news room since the 90s.

Ryan Murphy and Jason Blum are producing with hopes of having Alfonso Gomez-Rejon directing.
Late last year we discussed the fact that MGM, who is also rebooting Carrie, is developing a remake of 1976 horror movie The Town that Dreaded Sundown. Now it appears that Ryan Murphy (the creator of "American Horror Story") spoke out about the project this evening at an "AHS" event in Hollywood. It seems that Alfonso Gomez-Rejon might be directing with Murphy and Sinister's Jason Blum producing.
