'How The Grinch Stole Christmas' Is Getting A 3D Animated Remake

When I first heard word of a How The Grinch Stole Christmas remake, my initial thought was: "How?  Why?  The feature film came out only 11 years ago!"  But that needn't be the case.  Remake is a loose word, as this will be an animated 3D version of the original 1957 book -- sort of along the lines of The Lorax and Horton Hears a Who.
Universal and its Illumination Entertainment division are developing a 3D animated version of the Dr. Seuss classic How the Grinch Stole Christmas! Peter Candeland is set to direct, with Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri producing. Audrey Geisel, widow of Dr. Seuss author Theodor Geisel, will executive produce.
Am I against this?  Absolutely not.  It's completely welcomed and a little necessary, in my opinion.  Children of this generation, I feel, don't completely understand nor appreciate the greatness of The Grinch -- and this is a great way to reintroduce today's kids to a classic tale that truly stands the test of time.
