GOOSEBUMPS: THE HAUNTED MASK II (1996)

R.L. Stein's "Goosebumps" young adult novels are arguably one of the best parts of my childhood.  To make things even better, they were adapted into a TV show and subsequent TV movies.  Today, we look at The Haunted Mask II.

Breakdown:
The Haunted Mask II continues the story of the first book/movie.  This time around the focus is on one of the bullies from the first, Steve, who gets his hands on another haunted mask.  Despite warnings from Carly Beth (the protagonist of the first), Steve wears the mask a little longer than he should and things begin take an eerie turn.

My thoughts:
Being a huge fan of the first Haunted Mask, I immediately watched the sequel when it came out (by this time, I had lost interest in reading the books).  I loved that Carly Beth was still a vital character in the sequel, despite her conquering her demons the first time around.  There's a supreme nostalgia working here and it, well, works.  If you were a kid in the '90s, then there is really no reason for you not to have seen this.
