URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT (2000)

URBAN LEGEND is one of my favorite post-SCREAM teen slashers from 1998.  So, naturally, when a sequel came about, I was a little more than excited.  This is 2000's URBAN LEGENDS: FINAL CUT.

Breakdown:
Urban Legends: The Final Cut follows Amy Mayfield (Morrison), a student at Alpine University who struggles to complete her thesis film on urban legends - only to have her crew members fall prey to fatal 'accidents.' Suspicious, Amy investigates and discovers a much more sinister hand at work. Now she must unmask the killer before she, too, becomes an urban legend.

My thoughts:
This is definitely one of those "it is what it is" type of sequels.  Really, it's not a bad movie.  Although it does sport one of the worst motives in slasher history: (spoiler alert) a professor wants so badly to make it big that he steals a student film and begins killing the entire cast based on another student's idea of a serial killer who bases their murders on urban legends.  There are a few subtle homages to the original film, including a cameo at the end that is sure to put a smile on your face.

And here's that cameo.
