Xmas Vacation

Things have been slow, because of the holidays. What can I say, I am deeply religious and have been spending the last 2 weeks praying instead of updating. Or maybe I'm lying. Anyways, I hope you all have a great New Years and continue to visit the site in 2001!

The Rock in X2?

A lot of you may have heard that The Rock has signed on to play The Beast in X-Men 2. Many wrestling sites have been reporting this, but it isn't true. X-Men 2 is not ready to begin casting, so take this just as a rumor. Many thanks to everyone who emailed me this info!

Unbreakable Trilogy?

Total Film Magazine reports: Bruce Willis may still not be seeing dead people, but he is seeing sequels that don't exist. Despite Willis' internetty claim that his new movie, Unbreakable, is the first of a trilogy, writer-director M Night Shyamalan says the star is getting ahead of himself... "Whether there ever is another one is not really on my mind," The Sixth Sense helmer told Total Film. "I don't have a story, I'm not thinking about it, and if I ever made one, it would be for the right reasons. Not for money, not to cash in, and certainly not because my next two films flopped or anything like that." But, for the time being, Unbreakable's story of the changes surviving a trainwreck force on a man will remain a one-off collectors' edition. "Unbreakable is about 'Am I what people say I am? Am I something exceptional or a very ordinary person?'" Shyamalan said. "There's a lot of me in the story, and if I fin

Hamilton & T3

"I want to go out a champ. Because there was no place to take my character. She's done. It wouldn't work. I can't go back." Linda Hamilton @ E!'s The AWFUL Truth

Female T3

"She can disappear, she can mold into someone else, and she is sometimes just an energy." Arnold Schwarzenegger talking about the Female T3 @ The New York Post "The two drafts I read were so big that it would have cost $300 million to make it...So now they're toning it down, because I don't think we need to see a 747 crash-land into all those buildings in downtown L.A. I think we can do it on a football field somewhere so that it doesn't cost that much." Arnold Schwarzenegger the T3 script being rewritten @ The New York Post

Austin Powers 3

"We have a concept based on a prequel, where Dr. Evil and Austin are together in the 1950's as young men in some academy...Of course something goes wrong. Dr. Evil goes off to some zone and Austin launches the British revolution in American music and colour, just to annoy Dr. Evil. We've always wanted Sean Connery to do something. We've tried to talking to his people, but they were very polite - schedules and stuff - but he may just not want to go there." Jay Roach (The Director) @ Popcorn

Newman in Batman

Paul Newman as Batman? Not so fast... Cinescape Magazine got in touch with Newman's publicist this afternoon. What did they say? "Not a chance. I don't know how these stories get started." Note to Newman's publicist: People make them up.

Batman 5 Details

The new film will be an adaptation of the comic series "Batman: Year One." Also coming on board for the project is acclaimed writer-artist Frank Miller, writer of the "Batman: Year One" mini-series. He'll help craft the coming film's script with Aronofsky. Miller rose to fame when he created the cult graphic novel "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns " in 1986. He is currently working on its sequel. "Batman : Year One" tells the story of Bruce Wayne's first year in the cape and cowl. It also contains storylines about the young police Lieutenant James Gordon and Catwoman. Many fans are hoping that with "Year One&

Halloween 8

Dark Horizons also reported news from the convention. They said that Producer Moustapha Akkad confirmed shooting begins in Spring on "Halloween 8" based on a script by Larry Brand ("Masque of the Red"). Curtis didn't want to be in another "Halloween" film but agreed to cameo in order "to tie up what happened to her". Akkad also confirmed that it wasn't Myers who died in 'H20' and none of the other characters from that film will appear in the new sequel.

Chucky vs Freddy

Waiting for the long-delayed Seed of Chucky movie? Well don't, the project is history. At Fangoria's "Weekend of Horror" convention Dan Mancini revealed that the movie will never happen. He said that Universal looks down on the horror genre and was actually embarrassed that "Bride of Chucky" was a hit. But don't worry, Mancini is working on a Chucky vs Freddy project with New Line. Mummy 2 Talk

"If audiences respond as well as they did the first time around, then we're definitely going to deliver even more of that kind of adventure and fun. There's a particular brand of horror genre that turned on its ear with the right dose of leavened humor to make people feel like were not taking them or ourselves too seriously." - Brandan Fraser @ SFX Online

Jason X Art has been posting some cool Jason X pre-production sketches.

Spidey Sequels

Tobey Maguire (''The Cider House Rules'', "Pleasantville") is in final negotiations to play the title role in ''Spider-Man,'' Columbia's live-action film based on the Marvel Comics franchise. Maquire will sign on for 2 additional sequels that will give him options for richer back-end deals for the sequels. The deal is "play or pay" meaning he gets paid even if the project dies. Filming for the first Spiderman film starts in November.. No one actors have been cast at this time. But am I the only one who thinks Elton John looks exactly like Doc Oct?

Scream 4 Director

Rumors say that Dimension Films is so desperate to have some returning cast action, that they would even settle on just Patrick Dempsey returning to the franchise. At this time, Craven is out of the running as the director. But Miramax has allegedly been swaying Director Kevin Smith to take on the doomed horror sequel.

Scream 4 Confirmed

Well Kiddies...Dimension screwed us. Instead of stopping with a good thing, there is going to be a Scream 4. Wes Craven was nice enough to send over word on Scream 4. Thanks a ton to Wes for keeping us Scream fans in the loop. Hello! Wes Craven here-- with some news I thought you might want to know! Jurassic Park 3

DarkHorizons reported Dan's JP3 page has heard two bits of gossip that will turn some heads - including word the T-Rex is going on the back burner next time around. Before I go into explanation on that, the first scooper reports that folks going on the Universal Studios tour are apparently being told that Stage 12 (right across from JP: The Ride) is being used for pre-production on JP3 now that Ron Howard and his "The Grinch" crew have moved out their 'interior Whoville' sets. Now, for that second report which says renowned paleontologist Jack Horner, who served as consultant on both the previous JP films, gave a talk to this scooper's school not long ago and indicated the T-Rex would NOT be the main antagonist in the next film - something new and meaner would be replacing it, but the Rex will still likely make brief appearances.

FvsJ put on hold

New Line Cinemas has revealed that the often delayed Freddy vs Jason has again been put on hold. Production has been pushed back a year, with the Box Office results of Jason X determining if production will even start at all.

Blair Video Game reported that..... The Gathering of Developers game company has announced the upcoming release of, count them, three PC games based on the indie horror hit THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT. The first of the trio is set for release "in the third quarter of this year." That's between July and September for those of you behind in your corporate-speak. It's set to be called BLAIR WITCH VOLUME 1: RUSTIN PARR and promises to explore a killer mentioned in passing during the film. The second, BLAIR WITCH VOLUME 2: THE LEGEND OF COFFIN ROCK is being billed as a RESIDENT EVIL style game of… well, you know, a lot of killing. The third game, BLAIR WITCH VOLUME 3: THE ELLY KEDWARD TALE will blend magic (no not real magic) and action.

Jason X News

Calgary Sun Reporters Toronto-based shock-film specialist David Cronenberg will be vacating his director's chair for a role in the upcoming 10th installment of "Friday The 13th." "Jason X" is being directed by James Isaac, who has collaborated with Cronenberg in the past. According to Empire magazine, the new film is set in 2455, and Cronenberg plays a professor who returns to Earth with a group of students on a field trip, only to discover a frozen Jason. Empire said the script has the teacher and students unwisely loading Jason onboard their ship for the flight home. It's not Cronenberg's first shot at acting. He had roles in Don McKellar's "Last Night," Gus Van Sant's "To Die For", and Clive Barker's "Nightbreed." Cronenberg also directed an episode of the syndicated TV show based on the "Friday The 13th" films, Empire said.

Batman 5 Bullshit

This one rates right up there with the whole Ben/Batman Gywenth/Catwoman lies. Rumors are currently circulating that say Julia Roberts has been given a pretty large paycheck to be involved with Batman 5 . Sure………That'll happen.

Blair 2 Poster

Here is a pic of the Blair Witch 2 poster that is showing up in theaters. A teaser trailer is currently attached to UK copies of the Blair Witch Project VHS. I'll try to get a description of the trailer soon.

Roger Rabbit 2 News

Do you have your heart set on a sequel to "Roger Rabbit"? Well start wishing for something else, I suggest wishing for a sequel that has more of a shot of actually being made. While talking to Liz Smith, Frank Marshall growled that "After we budgeted the project, we realized it would simply be too expensive -- way, way too expensive. The first Roger Rabbit only had 40 minutes of animation. The second was going to have twice that much." Marshall then hissed (ok.. so he didn't growl or hiss anything, but it does make the story more interesting) that the first film's budget was $50MIL and, "that was nearly 15 years ago. Today, its cost would be prohibitive."

Erin 2

By Army Archerd, Daily Variety Senior Columnist HOLLYWOOD (Variety) - A sequel to ``Erin Brockovich?'' Why not? Julia Roberts told me it's her favorite film. And the real Brockovich told she was thrilled with Julia's portrayal -- and she certainly should be. Julia is masterful, dramatic, comedic, sexy (and revealing). The real Brockovich parlayed Roberts' baring movie wardrobe by arriving at the Village premiere Tuesday in a gown (from Nicole's on the Sunset Strip) barebacked, bare-sided and more. It caused as much eyebrow-lifting (and eye-lowering) as Jennifer Lopez's at the Grammys. Brockovich said she is now preparing, along with attorney Ed Masry (with whom she still works), for a November court case vs. PG&E; -- this one about a similar poisonous problem in Kettleman Hills in the San Joaquin Valley. Brockovich was back at her Westlake office at Masry & Vititoe as a ``legal investigator'' Wednesday morning, only briefly. She revert

Hannibal Talk

Ridley Scott spoke to Cinescape contributor Cindy Pearlman for her syndicated column, the director revealed his take on Foster exiting the project, saying, "No hard feelings concerning Jodie. Hannibal the movie picks up 10 years later. The way I'm thinking of it now is that Jodie fulfilled the role of a young Clarice brilliantly. She was the rookie. The innocent. But she can no longer be innocent 10 years later. Julianne is starting off with a fresh canvas." Regarding the film's script, the director says, "The script is carved in stone right now. It was written by Steve Zaillian (Schindler's List) and has been given the blessing by Thomas Harris, the author of the Hannibal book." When asked if the film's finale would be reverting back to that of the book now that Foster is gone, Scott suggests that it's not, adding, "Bits in the third act got a bit tricky."

Blair Witch 2 filming

MSNBC reported a story that James Adams tracked down the production of the Blair Witch sequel. The story noted that security on the set is very tight. Word has it that casting is still not complete.

No I Know 3

I get a lot of mail saying I should have an I KNOW 3 page, but there are no plans to make one! Freddie said he won't come back. Jennifer said she can't believe she starred in two films being chased by a man with a hook. The President of Columbia said there are no plans to make an I KNOW 3. Muse Watson said there has been no talk for a third one. There is no I Know 3.

Another Bad Tomato

According to Variety, Andy Fickman has signed on board to write the script for Attack of the Killer Tomatoes 2, a sequel to the original 1978 film. Fickman may also direct the film as well. The project will be produced by Tim Daly and J. Todd Harris' Daly-Harris Productions with John De Bello's Four Square Prods. De Bello directed and co-wrote the original film and all those other Tomato sequels.

Blade 2 gets director

The sequel to the 1998 hit vampire flick "Blade" will be directed by Guillermo del Toro, according to Variety. Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson, who starred in the original, are already scheduled to return for "Blade 2: Blood Hunt," which was scripted by David Goyer, who wrote the original. The film is to begin production in the fall. It should be out in summer 2001.

Shaft report

Aint It Cool News got this scoop about the new Shaft film. The plot is not too predictable, not too original. It takes some roads we haven't been down in a while. The plot of the version we saw (you know the schpiel: it's an unfinished movie; they can change it any way they want before release) involves Samuel L. Jackson as Shaft investigating a murder of a young black man. He's got good evidence a snotty rich bigoted white kid did it, but the white kid flees the country and a waitress who witnessed the murder goes into hiding. The movie revolves around Shaft looking for the girl and trying to bring the white kid to justice. No sex. Lots of gunfire. One car chase. <<<

Mummy 2 set report

Darkhorizons got this scoop about Pre Production on Mummy 2. "Construction is starting on the sets at Pinewood. There's an underground labyrinth of storerooms corridors at the British Museum, which will be full of artifacts and a handy sabre that once belonged to Ghengis Khan - Ideal for Brendan Fraser to slay a few Mummy brethern with. There's Fraser's home - Very sub-victorian, full of momentoes - One room is the child's bedroom, with a collapsable section of wall for a kidnap sequence where Fraser and Weisz's child is targetted as a potential sacrifice. There's a resurrection sarcophagus, where Arnold Voosloo will be brought back from the dead yet again, and there's the Lair Of the Princess - Where Imhotep's former squeeze holds court, deep in the old spice docks on the north of the River Thames. A rooftop is due to be built at a later stage with a blue-screen cyclorama because it's said that all of the creatures pursuing Weisz and Fraser

Matrix 2 and 3 news

Keanu Reeves will be getting around $20 Million for both of the Matrix sequels. "We are going to do Matrix 2 and Matrix 3 simultaneously. We are essentially going to make one giant movie that will be cut in half to make two smaller movies," says Silver "We should begin shooting in the spring of 2001 in Australia and we'll be bringing all of the main characters who survived the first one back for the sequels." Silver admits Joe Pantoliano has been putting the word out on the Matrix websites that his character did not really die in the first movie. "Joe is convinced he didn't really die, but in the movie, I saw he certainly did. "He'll have to talk to the writers to see if they can work something out."

Men in Black 2 in works

The long-rumored Men in Black 2 could be moving forward. Last week at ShoWest it was announced that the project is a "definite go." Then Darkhorizons reported that Will Smith said to London's Capitol Radio show that he'll be reading the new script for the film in the next few weeks. Will said, "If it is hot I will do it if it's not, then I won't."
