'Carrie' Remake Gets Pushed Back To October

If you were excited and giddy to run to your local theater and see Carrie on March 15, then I'm sorry to disappoint you.  The film has been pushed back to October 18, 2013.  Yeah, it's not a very subtle change -- in fact -- it almost leads to believe that perhaps the film scored low in test screenings, but I don't believe there has been any (I could be wrong).  However, I have seen FINISHED films literally pushed back YEARS (see Impostor, although one could argue that the delay was due to it being a 40 minute short fleshed into a feature).

But, yeah, Carrie will be here on October 18.

Synopsis:
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloƫ Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom.

Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
