Gary Ross is not Catching Fire. (I get it, I've used that joke quite a lot) So now that that is out of the way and done with, we can now speculate as to WHO will direct it.
Lionsgate leaked 3 names to The Los Angeles Times and 2 of them are David Cronenberg and Alfonso Cuaron. Alfonso Cuaron is known for Children of Men and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, who gave the Harry Potter franchise a much needed boost in the style department so if Cuaron were to get the job, he could possibly do the same with The Hunger Games franchise. Cronenberg's name is more interesting. He definitely could give the film that Cronenberg touch such as in films like Eastern Promises but his style may be too much if Lionsgate wants that PG-13 rating. The other name was Babel's Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
There were still about 5 other names on that list but those names were not enclosed. Who could they possibly be? You can check out my shortlist of directors and see if you agree with ANY of them.
Do you like the possibility of Alfonso Cuaron or David Cronenberg Catching Fire? (that joke never fails... hello... is this microphone on?)
