'10 Things I Hate About You' Sequel In The Works

You ever hear about a sequel and think, "How in the hell are they going to make another one of those?"  Well, this is one of those times for me.  A sequel to 10 Things I Hate About You, currently titled 10 Things I Hate About Life is in the works.
Hayley Atwell ("Captain America") will star in romantic comedy "10 Things I Hate About Life" for Intandem Films and Andrew Lazar's Mad Chance Prods. Gil Junger is onboard to direct from his own script -- which he describes as a story that advances the situations from the original "10 Things I Hate About You," based on Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew" and starring Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. Mad Chance also produced the Disney-released "Hate About You," which grossed $38 million. Junger told Variety that the pic's remained popular enough that he made more in residuals from it last year than he received for directing it in 1999. He said he was inspired to write the new script after coming across a man who had committed suicide at a scenic overlook. "It is the story of two relatable, ordinary people with normal jobs and normal desires whose seemingly great lives have become unmanageable," he said. "Two people who go to the same place at the same time to end it. … Their chance meeting is so awkward, so raw, and so funny, they postpone their intentions and go their separate ways."
From the short synopsis above, you can some what gather that this will be more of a spin-off than a straight-up sequel.  Good choice.
