Movies To Look Forward To The Rest Of 2013

We’ve been treated to some great new movies in the first part of the year, so what do we have to look forward to in the rest of 2013? Sequels have come on strong with Despicable Me 2, Iron Man 3, and Fast and Furious 6. Oh—and don’t forget the third Hangover movie. Horror fans were sure to get a rise out of The Conjuring, while those who enjoy the classics could lose themselves in the glamorous Great Gatsby. Never fear, however. 2013 still has plenty of exciting new movies to come.

1. Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2

Let’s start with some animation in the mix to get you warmed up for movies to look forward to in the rest of 2013. We’ll have plenty of animation in late September with this 3D movie. Our star, Flint Lockwood—same guy from the first movie—is still doing his thing, saving the world one new invention at a time. Well, this is the case until he finds out that one of his machines is churning out hybrids of food and animals that are wreaking havoc and must be stopped. Flint and friends to the rescue! This is a great movie adventure for the whole family.

1. Gravity

This is one movie to look forward to in October. With the smokin’ hot George Clooney and sweetheart Sandra Bullock, how can this space adventure go wrong? Well, things do go wrong on this space shuttle mission with Clooney’s astronaut character and Bullock along as a doctor. When they take a nice little stroll out in space, their shuttle is destroyed. What will the duo do now, as they strive to survive floating out in space? This movie trailer gives me just enough to leave me dying to see this new movie!

2. Diana

Yes, this is THE Princess Diana. Naomi Watts will have her job cut out for her as she attempts to portray the famous and well-loved Lady Diana. See Diana’s own dark secrets, as this film reveals what goes on the last two years of her life, including an affair, before her untimely and tragic death. The trailer, without a word, pulls me in with the music and emotion. I have to put this one on my winter calendar just to see how well the princess is portrayed, at the very least. Look for it November 1st.

3. Hunger Games: Catching Fire

Coming in late November, this sequel to the Hunger Games is sure to be one of the best movies to look forward to in 2013. Jennifer Lawrence returns as the heroine Katniss. After winning the previous year’s game along with boy pal Peeta, the winners take a victory tour to celebrate. Soon they discover that the good people of Panem may be rebelling as the annual Hunger Games approach. How will this put our hero and heroine in danger? Lots of good stuff in this movie trailer! Look for this one November 22nd!

4. The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug

Continue the adventures of The Hobbit on December 13th. Bilbo has the ring, but the journey is far from over. He has left Misty Mountain, but now he and his trusty cohorts must now go retrieve the gold from the fierce dragon, Smaug.
