It's never a promising sign when not only does a film get pulled from a release schedule, but it's also being shopped around for a potential new home. Well, that's exactly what's happening with Soulm8te, the M3GAN spinoff.
The “M3GAN” Cinematic Universe might not be expanding after all.
“Soulm8te,” a sci-fi spinoff about man who buys an android to cope with the death of his wife, has been removed from Universal’s release calendar. The film, which was set for Jan. 9, will be shopped to other Hollywood studios.
From the rumors and mumblings of social media, it almost sounds like Companion beat Soulm8te to the punch (and is a better movie).
