Not a sequel. Not a remake or prequel or requel. Just a straight up book-to-film adaptation. And why am I going to cover it? Because it's quite frankly my favorite book of all time. Seriously. I love Christopher Pike's Die Softly. And I'm super excited it's getting the movie treatment.
We’ve learned that Shatterproof Films, a Los Angeles-based production company specializing in elevated genre films, has optioned the rights to Die Softly, the acclaimed young adult thriller by bestselling author Christopher Pike. This move marks the beginning of the development and the adaptation of the bestseller with filmmaker John Berardo (Initiation, The Mannequin) expected to write and direct the anticipated feature adaptation of Pike’s thriller novel.

It'll most likely be a "modern reimagining," but I'll be damned if it wouldn't make a great early '90s period piece.
