The Flik Spot got a report from Tom Shepard (Pinky and the Brain) about a sequel to Jonothan Taylor Thomas's 1996 Pinocchio film. Here is what he had to say...
"Yes, yes, I know, everyone lets out a collective groan when they hear that P2 is a reality. A sequel to the Martin Landau, Jonathan Taylor Thomas film from '96, "The New Adventures of Pinocchio" stars Landau, Udo Kier, and Warwick Davis. The film is directed by the legendary Michael Anderson (Logan's Run, Around the World in 80 Days, All the Fine Young Cannibals, etc.), and written by yours truly, Tom Sheppard (Emmy Award winning veteran of Steven Spielberg's Pinky and the Brain), with able assistance from original Pinocchio scribe Sherry Mills. I can assure you, the film is far darker than the first, and quite bizarre. Udo Kier is in drag for most of the film! Anyway, New Line is supposed to be releasing it in the fall. For fans of classic horror, fantasy and Grand Guignol, it should prove to be a pleasan tsurprise."
