Sam Neill, probably best known for his portrayal as Dr. Alan Grant in Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park III, recently spoke to MTV and told them why he thinks a Jurassic Park 4 cannot, and will not, happen...
"I think we've told the story. I think it's done," he said, laughing that we here at MTV are the only ones interested in seeing him back in "Jurassic Park" mode. (We seriously doubt that's true.) But there's a deeper reason for why Neill wouldn't want to go back into that world: "[Legendary effects expert] Stan Winston who made those beautiful dinosaurs died. So, no Stan, no 'Jurassic Park' really … [and author Michael] Crichton died too."
However, Neill's "Alcatraz" co-star helped him come up with a very Hurley-esque idea for how "Jurassic Park 4" might come to life. Neill explained: "I'll tell you what. If Michael Crichton time travels, writes the book [and] Stan time travels, [and] reanimates dinosaurs, then absolutely."
Maybe we're reading into too much, but that sounds like a maybe to us.
Thanks to MTV for the story.
