This wasn't originally the plan for 20th Century Fox but it is now.
20th Century Fox and Lionsgate, the film companies behind the two films, X-Men: First Class and Catching Fire, the next film in The Hunger Games franchise, reached an agreement to push the shooting schedule for X-Men:First Class to January instead of having it shoot in August-September which is when Catching Fire is set to begin production. Apparently, Fox had the option of making Lawrence shoot the X-Men film no matter what but that doesn't seem to be an issue anymore. Nice to see that they don't want to re-cast Mystique.
Matthew Vaughn will be back directing the sequel of X-Men: First Class, while the script is being written by Simon Kinberg.
We can expect a release date for the sequel sometime around late 2013 to early 2014.
Are you looking forward to seeing the sequel to X-Men: First Class?
