Kurtzman And Orci Attached To Write Reboot For 'The Mummy' and 'Van Helsing'

Holy Pancakes!  Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are some busy screenwriters. (Probably cause Hollywood can't find any other writers who will do all these films)  The writers/producers of the films Star Trek and Transformers and TV shows like Fringe have signed an exclusive first-look production deal with Universal Pictures which will have them re-imagine The Mummy and vampire hunter film Van Helsing which will have Tom Cruise star and co-produce.  Yeah...

“Alex and Roberto are extraordinarily talented writers and producers who know the value of a great story in building successful tentpole films,” Fogelson and Langley said in a joint statement. “They have been a major part of some of Hollywood’s biggest movies and television shows in recent history, and we’re eager to have them build on that success at Universal."
The quote continues.
“We’re thrilled to call Universal Pictures our home,” said Kurtzman and Orci. “From the moment we sat down with Adam, Donna, Peter, Jeff and the entire Uni team, there was an instant flow of inspired ideas. They really understand the importance of building a strong creative team and giving our shared projects their full support. We’re proud to start making movies that will live as part of Universal’s enduring legacy."
Van Helsing was released back in 2004 with Hugh Jackman as Van Helsing and the last Mummy film was out in 2008.

The writing duo are also tagged to write the second reboot for Spider-Man and wrote a draft for All You Need Is Kill.  I think Hollywood needs to find some new writers cause these studios might just kill them with all this work.

Would you be interested in a Mummy and Van Helsing reboot?
