THE PURGE Studio Sued For Copyright Infringement, Steals SETTLER'S DAY Plot

Uh-oh, things might be getting legal on the side of THE PURGE.  No, The Purge isn't going to become a real thing, but the studio is being sued for copyright infringement.

Screenwriter Douglas Jordan-Benel submitted a screenplay called SETTLER'S DAY to United Talent Agency -- and a few months later, THE PURGE was in production with a very similar plot.

Douglas Jordan-Benel alleges he submitted his "Settler's Day" screenplay to United Talent Agency, which represents the credited writer of "The Purge."
