So it turns out that horror's royal trilogy is no longer a trilogy. And that's okay. Today's Sequel-a-Day was miles ahead of its time and its relevance is immortal. This is 2011's Scream 4.
BREAKDOWN:
From Joey on IMDb...
Sidney Prescott, now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey and Gale, who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill and her Aunt Kate. Unfortunately, Sidney's appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.
MY THOUGHTS:
Scream 4 is a vibe. All of it. Everything from pre-production to final release. This entry has aged so well. And I might be one of like four people who actually like the filter used on the movie; it perfectly encapsulates the themes of the movie. Fingers crossed for a 4K soon.
