A proper reboot of the cult classic Silent Night, Deadly Night is on the way.
Sixth Dimension, Studiocanal’s new in-house genre label led by Jed Benedict, has picked up global rights excluding North America to the reboot of 1984 slasher film Silent Night, Deadly Night. The project, which is the label’s first acquisition, is heading into production this spring and is slated for a late 2025 theatrical release.

And who are all behind this remake, you ask?
The reboot is written and directed by Mike P. Nelson (Wrong Turn, V/H/S/85) and produced by the original 1984 Tri-Star film’s producers Scott Schneid and Dennis Whitehead. The executive producers include Jamie R. Thompson, Anthony Masi and Steven Schneider. Erick Opeka, Yolanda Macias, Brandon Hill and Brad Miska will serve as exec producers for Cineverse, which recently released Damien Leon’s Terrifier 3 in North America, where it grossed $55 million.
