Twilight: Eclipse to roll soon

This comes verbatim from Bloody-Disgusting... Production Weekly is reporting that Summit Entertainment is already prepping to begin shooting The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on August 17th and film thru October 31st at Vancouver Film Studios. New Moon will be arriving in theaters this November. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob — knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which? The adaptation is slated for release on June 30, 2010.

Dimension remaking An American Werewolf

According to Bloody-Disgusting , a remake of John Landis' classic An American Werewolf In London is on the way from Dimension Films. Read on for what B-D had to say... This weekend we broke the news that Dimension Films has acquired the remake rights to An American Werewolf in London, John Landis' groundbreaking horror-comedy from 1981 that featured stunning visual effects work by Rick Baker. We checked in with Landis to see if could confirm our story, while also asking him if he had heard anything about getting Michael Jackson's "Thriller" on Blu-ray. Read on for the skinny. While we reported that Dimension Films had acquired the rights to the remake of AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON, Landis tells B-D that it's still in negotiations. "Brad - Yes, Dimension is now in negotiation for the 'An American Werewolf in London' remake rights. Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it," he continues talking about the incredible Blu-r

Possible Smallville movie (UPDATED)

This comes from Moviehole: According to AICN, a hush-hush “Smallville” telefilm could be in the works – it’d follow the events of the show’s upcoming ninth-and-final season, and offer audiences a glimpse at something they were certain (because original said it’d never happen, since this show is supposed to be all about Clark Kent) they’d never see…. Tom Welling in the Superman suit. An untried scooper (like how we’re not judging?) told the site that he’s gotten a hold of some signage being prepared for next months’ Comic Con. Here’s what said scooper says : On black, with crimson/red text in the same font lettering that Smallville uses, and a transparent grey Superman "S" watermark behind the text: METROPOLIS CHRISTMAS 2010 Then at the bottom is a banner advertising the Smallville presentation. This could be nonsense… but if not, it could be a great send-off for “Smallville”. Wonder if Michael Rosenbaum will reprise his role as Lex Luthor for it? Possible image described

Hitman 2 on the way

IESB is reporting that Kyle Ward has been tapped to pen the sequel to Hitman , a live-action adaptation of the popular video game starring Timothy Olyphant (who I believe is best known for playing "Mickey" in Scream 2 ). Whether this sequel is going theatrical or direct-to-video has yet to be determined.

Alice In Wonderland script review

CC2K has an advanced script review up for Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland . Please note, the review is spoiler-filled. Tim Burton doesn’t exactly have the best track record with remakes. Planet of the Apes anyone? Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? So it was with slight apprehension that I approached the script to his next project, Alice in Wonderland, which comes out next March. Written by Linda Woolverton, who also co-wrote The Lion King, and had a part in Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, and the Teen Wolf cartoon, the script isn’t exactly an adaptation of the original story by Lewis Carroll, as it is an extension of it. Alice went to Wonderland as a child, and she’s now almost grown. She’s 17, and she’s back for more, but doesn’t remember her times there earlier. She’s about to be engaged, maybe. A rich suitor wants to marry her, and the opening scenes of the movie are of her engagement party. But she, of course, gets distracted by a white rabbit. The White Rabbit (who wi

Ramis talks Ghostbusters 3 and Meatballs

Harold Ramis recently spoke to Moviehole about Ghostbusters 3 and a Meatballs remake. Moviehole caught up with the always amiable Harold Ramis a few days back to chat about his new comedy "Year One". Naturally, we touched on the highly-anticipated "Ghostbusters 3", which Ramis, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray are expected to shoot later this year. First of all though, there's a certain "Meatballs" remake on the way (announced this morning)... Question: Now, there - there is supposed to be this remake happening of Meatballs. Ramis: I've heard that. I have no information about that. It turned up on IMDB one day on my profile, and I've never said a word, or heard a word about it. Question: I mean, my question would be, "Why," of course. Because I don't understand why - Ramis: There've been three sequels to Meatballs I had nothing to do with. I've never - my whole involvement in Meatballs probably lasted a month. Question

Halloween II trailer #2

Here's is the second trailer for Halloween II which features all new footage...

Teen Wolf remake news

It is being reported that Warner Bros. is trying to get a remake of the hit classic Teen Wolf off the ground. They are currently looking for writers who will take the film ins a "new direction." It was reported back in 2007 that WB was looking to cast a female lead for the film. We'll have to see if that is still a possibility -- two years later. I'm sure more news will surface as this project comes more into fruition.

New Halloween II one sheet

And here it is...the new one sheet for Rob Zombie's Halloween II , arriving in theaters August 28. So, what do you think of the tagline: "Family Is Forever"?

Neve Campbell NOT doing Scream 4?!

Rumors are swirling that Neve Campbell has refused to reprise her role as "Sidney Prescott" in the next Scream film. Many sites have cited Kevin Williamson's Twitter page to be the source of such news, yet, when I just checked it, the news was gone. We'll see what happens. If the price is right, I think she'll do it. Thoughts?

Richard Kelly considering Donnie Darko 3

There have been a few rumors lately about Richard Kelly (director) returning to do a third Donnie Darko film. Actually, maybe we should just call this part two instead -- I like to pretend S. Darko doesn't exist. Anyway, Kelly was quoted earlier in the week stating that he has a new "Darko" project in the works. Now, was he referring to a second sequel, or an original film under his Darko production banner? Who knows, really. It's too soon to tell, until we hear a more definitive word from the man himself. I wouldn't hold your breath, but being the optimist that I am, the future is unclear. What are your thoughts on this news?

Batman 3 directing job open?

Is Christopher Nolan exiting the Batman franchise? This comes verbatim from Moviehole. Is Christopher Nolan clearing his stuff out of the Batcave? Surely not... right? right!? A trusted industry source tells that Nolan, helmer of "Batman Begins" and "The Dark Knight", might not be returning for the foreseeable third film in the bank-busting series. And considering Nolan has been taking his time in agreeing to a third film (though some say the "Interception" agreement enclosed a promise from the filmmaker that he'd also give them a third "Batman"), that's probably easier to believe than we'd like it to be. It's understandable the guy probably feels he'll never top "The Dark Knight" - because most of us feel the same way. It can't... won't... be topped. There has to be a reason, besides cabbage, for the guy to come back. Even Christian Bale feels the same way. He's not a sure thing

H6 commentary on hold

I have put my commentary for the Halloween 6 Producer's Cut on hold. I started recording the track the other day but was constantly interrupted by any and everything. Needless to say, I don't have the time to record right now, so the track has been put on hold. And to be honest, I can't say for how long. But when I am ready to do it, believe me, you'll know.

Bond 23 has a new writer

This comes from Moviehole... Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli of EON Productions and MGM are moving forward on the next 007 installment, hiring "Frost/Nixon" scribe Peter Morgan, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade to write the script for the 23rd James Bond film, according to Variety. No start date has yet been set, but sources said EON and MGM are eyeing a 2011 release. "Peter, Neal and Robert are extraordinarily talented and we're looking forward to working with the three of them," Wilson and Broccoli said in a statement. Both "Quantum of Solace" and "Casino Royale" were co-productions between MGM and Sony, with the latter distributing. The new film will be the first to return as a full MGM release. The first 20 pictures in the franchise were distributed by MGM. Morgan, who wrote both the play and film "Frost/Nixon" and "The Last King of Scotland" and "The Queen," has most recently been working on

Joss Whedon comments on Buffy

It's no surprise that the Buffy fans worldwide were a little disappointed when the found out that series creator Joss Whedon was going to have nothing to do with the reboot. The producers eventually approached Whedon about the project and he told Entertainment Weekly this: "I think that's something better left untouched by me. So, I wish them luck." So I guess that puts the flame out on that one.

Williamson wants Campbell for Scream 4

Well, this comes from Kevin Williamson's Twitter page: Come on Sid! Say yes! Please!!!!!! I'm begging!!!!! He also says numerous times on the page that this IS Scream 4 , the first part of a second trilogy and NOT a remake of any kind.

Disney wants fourth Pirates movie

Jerry Bruckheimer recently spoke to Comingsoon about a fourth Pirates of the Caribbean movie. This is what Jerry had to say: "It's a great franchise... A beloved character and Johnny's really excited about coming back to Captain Jack. He certainly is interested in Tonto, but Disney's priority is to get 'Pirates' made first. You never know what's going to happen, but they would like it." He also added that the two original writers, Terry Rossio and Ted Elliot, were "writing 'Pirates' as we speak," and he said it was "funny" and a "whole new way of going". About the "Tonto" comment, Johnny Depp is tapped to play that character in The Lone Ranger .

American Pie drops the 'Presents'

This comes straight from the screenwriter's (David Steinberg) MySpace blog. Apparently Universal has decided to drop the Presents from their American Pie titles. Read his statement for the info. Presents? There has been much debate over the last few months whether Universal will break with the "American Pie Presents" formula on this movie since I named my script simply, "American Pie: Book of Love" (with a colon instead of "presents"). The notice of tentative writing credits was issued today and they seem to be calling it "American Pie: Book of Love" which is a major victory for me. It's actually not a major victory at all-- more of a micro victory, but we writers care deeply about such things. For the record, I got sole credit on the movie which is not surprising since there were no other writers. Congratulations, David!

David Carradine dies at 72

This comes from Yahoo! BANGKOK - Actor David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series "Kung Fu" who also had a wide-ranging career in the movies, has been found dead in the Thai capital, Bangkok. A news report said he was found hanged in his hotel room and was believed to have committed suicide. A spokesman for the U.S. Embassy, Michael Turner, confirmed the death of the 72-year-old actor. He said the embassy was informed by Thai authorities that Carradine died either late Wednesday or early Thursday, but he could not provide further details out of consideration for his family. The Web site of the Thai newspaper The Nation cited unidentified police sources as saying Carradine was found Thursday hanged in his luxury hotel room. It said Carradine was in Bangkok to shoot a movie and had been staying at the hotel since Tuesday. The newspaper said Carradine could not be contacted after he failed to appear for a meal with the rest of the film crew on Wednesday, and that his bod

Bell talks Saw VIII and IX

This bit of news comes courtesy of B-D... Back in 2004 Bloody-Disgusting was the first website to get behind Saw and really give it a push, who knew that five years later we'd not only be reporting on the possibilities of an eighth film, but also a ninth? It's still crazy to me that this October we'll be seeing a sixth film in the Jigsaw franchise created by Australian horror fans James Wan and Leigh Whannell, along with the vidgame accompanying it. Earlier today B-D caught up with Mr. Tobin Bell (that's Jigsaw to you), who confirms to B-D that the plan is the end the franchise with an eighth film, but who knows? Tobin Bell as Jigsaw in SAWBloody-Disgusting spoke exclusively with SAW star Tobin Bell at the E3 convention in Los Angeles today just after the announcement that the actor will be lending his familiar voice to Jigsaw for the SAW video game. During our chat about the game, we also asked the actor if he’d heard the rumor that the 8th film would bring an end t

New Scream Trilogy With The Arquettes In The Works?

We had heard rumors of the stalled Scream 4 for quite awhile now but Entertainment Weekly has apparently heard that not only is original Scream writer Kevin Williamson returning, but the Arquettes are in talks to reprise their roles from the original trilogy. Some sources are reporting that they're wanted for a "reboot" trilogy while the Weinstein's last official word (and the fact that they're original cast members) indicate that the film is to be titled Scream 4 . Entertainment Weekly apparently uncovered this news and, while nothing is yet official, believes the Arquettes to be preparing to return to the witty slasher franchise. This information goes along with sentiments expressed by David Arquette in recent years regarding the potential the film might have with the writing talent of someone like Kevin Williamson driving the film's self-aware take on horror films. No word on any involvement by Neve Campbell, who has stated in the past that she sees no

Anthony Stewart-Head disses Buffy reboot

This comes as no surprise that some of the cast of the Buffy TV series are a little disappointed that Joss Whedon will have nothing to do with the newest proposed remake. This comes from Moviehole: “I wouldn’t want to see it, no,” Head, best known for his role as Giles on "Buffy", admits. “The Kuzuis didn’t do a great job on the movie the first time around. It was Joss’ script at the age of 19, but they changed a lot of it. They said, ‘Look, we know best and we know how to make this movie,’ and it became quite schlocky and high camp.” Head recalls the time when he went to audition for the Buffy series because he loved Whedon’s pilot script so much, and his agent advised him to watch the movie to get the tone of the show before his screen test. “So I did and I went, ‘Oh, that’s not it at all.’ I went in and saw Joss and said, ‘I watched the movie last night!’ And he went, ‘Oh. Did ya?’ I just put it out of my mind. The bottom line is if a movie was ever to be made, it sho
