CREEP 2 Details

For those who were wondering, Creep 2 will be released via digital on October 24.  Below is a plot synopsis:
“Creep 2 stars Desiree Akhavan as Sara, a video artist whose primary focus is creating intimacy with lonely men. After finding an ad online for “video work” she thinks she may have found the subject of her dreams. She drives to a remote house in the forest and meets a man (Duplass) claiming to be a serial killer. Unable to resist the chance to create a truly shocking piece of art, she agrees to spend the day with him, but discovers she may have dug herself a hole from which she cannot escape.” And here's the first image from Creep 2...

The sequel will hit Netflix sometime in late 2017.

Stephen King Reviews IT

With the hype surrounding IT at an all-time high, I bet you're curious as to whether creator Stephen King likes the new adaptation of his terrifying novel.  Even if you're not curious, too's a video with audio from King on his thoughts on the new movie and a quick review.

IT hits on September 8.

Like most of our daily sequels, this one comes from just being on my mind lately.  This sequel serves as the true creation of one of the scariest horror movie villains of all time.  This is 1982's Friday the 13th Part III.

Jason Voorhees, having barely survived a wound to his shoulder from his own machete, is back to revenge on all that visit "his" woods. A new group of friends come over to party at an area close to the campsite. This time, Jason will be stronger than ever, and getting a hockey mask from one of those friends.

My thoughts:
What's not to like about F13 Part 3?  It has it all: creative kills, a solid story, and the introduction of one of best killer masks in all of horror movies.  How can I forget, it's in freaking 3D!

Today's sequel was one that looked to shed light on one of cinema's greatest horror villains and his past.  It was goofy, "scary," and sometimes just weird.  This is 1991's Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare.

In part six of the Nightmare on Elm Street series, dream monster Freddy Krueger has finally killed all the children of his hometown, and seeks to escape its confines to hunt fresh prey. To this end, he recruits the aid of his (previously unmentioned) daughter. However, she discovers the demonic origin of her father's powers and meets Dad head-on in a final showdown (originally presented in 3-D).

My thoughts:
FD surely isn't my favorite in the series, but it's certainly not the worst (well, maybe).  But it's still super fun and a staple among early '90s slashers.

SUPER TROOPERS 2 Teaser Trailer Released

The official teaser trailer for Super Troopers 2 has officially been released.

Super Troopers 2 hits on April 20.

With the recent news of Adam Green's secret sequel Victor Crowley blowing minds, we'll take a look back to 2010 when Victor Crowley made his first return. This is Hatchet II.

Marybeth escapes the clutches of the deformed, swamp-dwelling iconic killer Victor Crowley. After learning the truth about her family's connection to the hatchet-wielding madman, Marybeth returns to the Louisiana swamps along with an army of hunters to recover the bodies of her family and exact the bloodiest revenge against the bayou butcher.

My thoughts:
The first one was a very fun movie and this one is too.  Danielle Harris' role is a little underwritten, in my opinion, but overall, it's a cool movie.

3 New IT Clips Released

Three new clips from the upcoming IT adaptation have been released.  The buzz surrounding this movie is insane and I can't wait to see it!

Clip #1: "This Town Is Cursed"

Clip #2: "Take IT"

Clip #3: "I Don't Want To Go Missing Either"

IT hits theaters on September 8.

You know the story...three students filmmakers go missing in the woods of Burkitsville, Maryland while shooting a documentary and a year later, their footage was found.  And then a year after that footage was released to theaters a group of obsessed fans go into the woods and encounter some crazy shit.  This is 2000's Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2.

To cash in on all of the "real world" hype of the events in the first film, a man from Burkitsville, Maryland opens a "Blair Witch Hunt" tour, which shows patrons various locations from the original film. A bunch of college students decide to take the tour, and wind up in Rustin Parr's house. There, they decide to camp for the evening, but in the morning, they realize they didn't sleep and they don't remember anything that happened the previous night. From there, they go back to town, and discover that something...or someone has come with them.

A poster for the upcoming The Houses October Built 2 has been released.  Thanks to Bloody-Disgusting for getting their hands on this.

With all the Batman-related news lately, it's only fitting that today's sequel was the Caped Crusader's third outing.  A little dark and a little goofy pretty much makes up 1995's Batman Forever.

The Dark Knight of Gotham City confronts a dastardly duo: Two-Face and the Riddler. Formerly District Attorney Harvey Dent, Two-Face incorrectly believes Batman caused the courtroom accident which left him disfigured on one side; he has unleashed a reign of terror on the good people of Gotham. Edward Nygma, computer-genius and former employee of millionaire Bruce Wayne, is out to get the philanthropist; as The Riddler he perfects a device for draining information from all the brains in Gotham, including Bruce Wayne's knowledge of his other identity. Batman/Wayne is/are the love focus of Dr. Chase Meridan. Former circus acrobat Dick Grayson, his family killed by Two-Face, becomes Wayne's ward and Batman's new partner Robin the Boy Wonder.

By now, you're surely aware of the Scorsese-produced Joker origin movie that's happening.  Furthermore, DC and Warner Bros. aren't done with Jared Leto's Joker just yet, either.  We've heard rumblings in the recent past of a Joker and Harley Quinn movie, and now that's been confirmed with the directors of Crazy, Stupid, Love taking the helm.

From The Hollywood Reporter:
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, directors and executive producers of the hit NBC drama This Is Us and who also wrote and helmed the 2011 film Crazy, Stupid, Love, are entering the DC cinematic universe at Warner Bros.

The duo are in final negotiations to pen and helm an untitled movie project centering on Batman villains Joker and Harley Quinn.

Jared Leto and Margot Robbie are due to reprise their roles as the villains, among the most popular characters in the DC pantheon and which they first portrayed in 2016’s Suicide Squad. Even though the movie is moving fast, it still isn't planned unt…

VICTOR CROWLEY Teaser Trailer Released

We're fresh off the stunning news of a secret Hatchet sequel, Victor Crowley, being made and premiered and thanks to BD, we have our first look at any sort of footage in the form of a teaser trailer.

Victor Crowley hits select theaters October 2017.

The phrase "twenty years in the making" gets thrown around an awful lot.  But in the case of today's sequel, that's exactly the case.  Filming began in 1994 and was halted.  Many, many years later, the film was "finished."  This is 2012's Sleepaway Camp IV: The Survivor.

Allison Kramer suffers recurring nightmares and selective amnesia. She returns to camp to discover the truth only to find dark memories coming to life before her very eyes.

From IMDb

My thoughts:
I remember reading about this SC4 on horror websites back in the early 2000s, wondering if it was truly a real thing or not.  And definitive proof came when the Sleepaway Camp Survival Kit DVD box set was released, which contained the infamous bonus disc with all the footage.  The footage didn't impress, and it still doesn't.  But that's okay, at least the damned thing got finished...sort of.

HATCHET Reboot, VICTOR CROWLEY, Shocks Audiences

Filmmaker Adam Green shocked the audience at this tenth-anniversary screening for Hatchet by showing them a completely different movie.  In fact, the audience was treated to a reboot, Victor Crowley, instead.

From Entertainment Weekly:
EW can exclusively reveal that writer-director Adam Green has secretly made a fourth film in his Hatchet slasher franchise. The movie is called Victor Crowley and once again stars Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th) as the Louisiana swamp-dwelling, supernatural killer after whom the new movie is named. The film is being described as a reboot and is set ten years after the massacre featured in the series’ first three movies (2006’s Hatchet, 2010’s Hatchet II, and 2013’s Hatchet III). Victor Crowley costars Hatchet franchise veteran Parry Shen (Better Luck Tomorrow) as well as Laura Ortiz (2006’s The Hills Have Eyes), Dave Sheridan (Scary Movie), and Brian Quinn (truTV’s Impractical Jokers). Victor Crowley is written and directed by Green who penned all three …

Martin Scorsese, Todd Phillips Making THE JOKER Origin Story

Yes, you read that right.  Martin Scorsese is producing an origin story movie for the famed DC villain The Joker.  What's stranger?  Todd Phillips, director Road Trip and The Hangover trilogy, is directing the film -- in which he's also co-writing with 8 Mile scribe Scott Silver.

It's been a strange day.

From Deadline:
Warner Bros and DC are in the early stages of another Batman Universe spinoff movie, this one telling the origin story of the signature villain The Joker. The studio has set The Hangover‘s Todd Phillips to co-write a script with 8 Mile scribe Scott Silver. Phillips will direct the movie, and Martin Scorsese will produce it with Phillips. This will be the first film under a new banner that has yet to be named in which WB can expand the canon of DC properties and create unique storylines with different actors playing the iconic characters. The story goes even deeper to the details...
I’m told that the intention is to make an origin story that isn’t part of an…

I had no idea there was a sequel for The Houses October Built being made, so you can imagine my surprise when the trailer for the sequel was released earlier.

Here's the official synopsis:
Recovering from the trauma of being kidnapped last Halloween by the Blue Skeleton – a group who take “extreme haunt” to another level – five friends decide they must face their fears in order to move on. Heading back out on the road to visit more haunted house attractions, signs of the Blue Skeleton start appearing again and a new terror begins… And the trailer...

The Houses October Built 2 will haunt you on September 22.

Today, we take a look back at a sequel that sort of came out of nowhere.  Four years (seemed a lot longer) after Urban Legends: Final Cut, we got a direct-to-video sequel in the UL franchise that took a step back from the teen slasher sub-genre and into the realm of the supernatural.  This is 2005's Urban Legends: Bloody Mary.

On Homecoming night, Samantha, Gina, and Mindy are having a slumber party at Sam's house due to being black-listed by the sexy football players. Since the dance and game are out of the question, the trio stays up and entertains themselves with Urban Legends..all leading up to BLOODY MARY. With nothing better to do and a whole night to waste, Sam chants "Bloody Mary." Her friends laugh... "Bloody Mary." More laughter. On the third and final "Bloody Mary," the friends are kidnapped by three jocks and return soon thereafter, shaken but well. Sam begins having hallucinations and soon bodies turn up - is it all a high …

Ivan Drago Prepping For CREED 2

Hopefully, you got around to seeing the latest Rocky installment, Creed.  It was a fantastic film that pushed the series in a new direction with Sylvester Stallone still very much involved.  A sequel was a no-brainer, and here's our first look at Dolph Lundgren getting back into "Ivan Drago" shape for the next movie.

How much Drago will be involved in Creed 2 is still unknown.  But I'm pumped.

Getting ready for something big! 👊 @officialslystallone #Creed2 #IvanDrago A post shared by Dolph Lundgren (@dolphlundgren) on Aug 21, 2017 at 8:30am PDT
Creed 2 is expected sometime in 2018.

We're inching closer to October and I've had this movie on the brain recently, so today's Movie Sequel-a-Day is the horror genre gold standard on how to breathe new life into a dead franchise...this is 1988's Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers.

It's October 30, 1988 and Michael Myers has been in a coma since his pursuit of Laurie Strode, 10 years ago, was finally stopped (events of H1 and H2). However when he is transfered from Richmond Mental Institute to Smith's Grove he awakes when he hears that he has a niece in Haddonfield and after killing the transfer crew he escapes. In Haddonfield, the niece, Jamie, has been adopted by the Carruthers family but keeps having nightmares about Michael (but she doesn't know who he is). On Halloween night, Jamie goes out trick and treating, little knowing that her murdering Uncle is following her and her step-sister Rachel. Rushing to her aid is Dr. Loomis and with the help of Sheriff Meeker starts to s…

GREMLINS 3 Has A Twisted, Dark Script

Writer-director Chris Columbus recently chatted with /Film about Gremlins 3.  Apparently, the script has been written and this is what Columbus revealed:
“I’m really proud of the script,” Columbus said. “It is as twisted and dark as anything, so we’ll see. It’s always a budgetary conversation when we’re going to shoot it. I wanted to go back to the really twisted sensibility of the first movie. I found that was a very easy place for me to fall back into and start writing again so hopefully we’ll see that movie soon.” And when asked about Gizmo possibly being killed off, Columbus had this to say:
“Very good observation,” Columbus said. “That comes up in the movie, certainly.” So what do you think?  Is a dark route the best route?  Should Gizmo die?

Weird New CULT OF CHUCKY Photo

Okay, what in the hell is going on with Chucky's hand in this new Cult of Chucky image?  From what we know already, I'm going to take a stab and say he's either "transforming" somehow, or the patient(s) in the facility are wildly hallucinating.

That's my best guess.  What's yours?
“Confined to an asylum for the criminally insane for the past four years, Nica Pierce (Fiona Dourif) is erroneously convinced that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. But when her psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic “tool” to facilitate his patients’ group sessions — an all-too-familiar “Good Guy” doll with an innocently smiling face — a string of grisly deaths begins to plague the asylum, and Nica starts to wonder if maybe she isn’t crazy after all. Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), Chucky’s now-grown-up nemesis from the original Child’s Play, races to Nica’s aid. But to save her he’ll have to get past Tiffany (Oscar-nominee Jennifer Tilly), Chucky’s long-ago bride, …

UNBREAKABLE Trilogy Talks, From 17 Years Ago

With the third entry in the Unbreakable trilogy, Glass, underway now, it seems fitting to a take a look back and see what the ole rumor mill looked like in late 2000, when co-stars would go online and make outrageous claims.

Here's how that went down...

On November 6, 2000, Bruce Willis took part in an online chat over at Yahoo!, and user "GreenHornet" asked the question:
So Mr. Willis do you have any other films in line with M. Night Shyamalan? (or you rather not say) And Willis, as "bruce_willis_live", responded:
Unbreakable is the first part of a trilogy of films.

I can’t tell you about the others...

But we're supposed to do two more.

you’ll understand how it lends itself to a continuing story. Interesting, to say the least.

Again, on December 1, 2000, Entertainment Weekly backed up Willis' ramblings:
"Meanwhile, Willis and Jackson are pushing for an Unbreakable sequel – maybe two. 'It's really built to be a trilogy,' Willis believe…

We're keeping today's Sequel-a-Day in the Texas Chainsaw Massacre family, and this one created a new dimension for the series.  A third dimension.  Naturally I'm speaking about 2013's Texas Chainsaw 3D.

After the first massacre in 1974, the townspeople suspected that the Sawyer family were responsible. A vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer house, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family. Decades later, a young woman named Heather learns that she has inherited a Texas estate from her grandmother. She decides to bring her friends along on the road trip to investigate her inheritance. On arrival, she discovers she has inherited a mansion, but is yet to uncover the terrors that lurk in the basement underneath it.

Welcome back to another edition of Movie Sequel-a-Day!  And this one's a real gas hog.  Ladies and gengtlemen...this is 1990's Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III.

A couple encounters a perverted gas station attendant who threatens them with a shotgun. They take a deserted path in Texas to seek help, but only meet up with a cannibalistic clan interested in helping themselves to fresh meat.

My thoughts:
I'm a huge fan of TCM2, but it was nice seeing the series trying to return to its roots in this second sequel.  In fact, the film just sort of retcons the events of TCM2.  Oh well.  We get Leatherface hacking away at people with a sweet new chainsaw.

Sasha Lane Joins HELLBOY Reboot

The Hellboy reboot is beginning to pick up serious steam as it adds another name to its growing cast...Sasha Lane!
American Honey's breakout star Sasha Lane is in final negotiations to join the Hellboy reboot.

Lionsgate and Millennium’s project will star David Harbour as the demonic hero from the Mike Mignola comic books. Neil Marshall, the horror director who broke out with The Descent and won raves for his work on Game of Thrones, is on board to helm.

The new story sees the hero squaring off against a medieval sorceress who seeks to destroy humankind. Lane would play Alice Monaghan. In the comic books, Hellboy rescues Alice from the fairies that kidnapped her. She retains some supernatural gifts because of her time with the fairies.

Milla Jovovich and Ian McShane also are attached to star. Source: THR
